Today, day nine, the infection is still there with the vacuum dressing intact. It will stay for a few more days. Her liver shows signs of further recovery. Day four of Mia’s life, and the recovery begins after she received her pacemaker! There are so many uncertainties at this time, but the family takes it day by day.

Day three of Mia’s life, and she received her pacemaker this morning! She went into the theatre around 08:00 and was out after 10:00. Doctors are still monitoring, but her little heart is doing so much better already. She is on a ventilator because of some fluids in the lungs.

On her second day, the doctors decided that a pacemaker would be the solution. Mia has an enlarged liver. The operation was originally scheduled for late afternoon and then was postponed to the next morning. A video

Mia was born today, the 1st of July 2026, at 08:00, Welcome, Mia! She weighed in at 3.92kg. She came into the world with a complete heart block and a pulse of only 40. Over a few hours, it went up to 60. Doctors will assess her health and decide on the way forward.
